Pixie eager to break America

Pixie Lott has admitted that she is desperate to gain success in the United States.

Pixie revealed that parts of her debut album “Turn It Up” were written to appeal to an American market.

“Obviously, it’s a different audience and they listen to a different kind of music, so when I made the album I wanted to make sure it had a sound that would work hopefully in both the UK and America,” she told BBC News.

“I worked with a lot of UK writers and a lot of American writers, I didn’t want to make it sound too American or too British. So hopefully it will work – but you never know!”

The 18-year-old, who recently joked that she will take over the world in a year, insisted that she will not let fame change her.

“I don’t really get fazed by it too much, and I really hate big-headed people so I don’t think that is ever going to be a problem,” she said.

“I think I’ve just got such great friends and family and it feels exactly the same as before and I’m still exactly the same.”
